I like to make sure that I vary the way my rugs are displayed. I have a stockpile of wooden panels that have interesting shapes and edges, and are painted with milk paint and then distressed. I add reproduction hardware or grosgrain ribbons and safely affix the small mat onto the panel by sewing it on carefully.

I also like to make ornaments. The themes I use for these are angels, stars, red and green geometrics, ponies and scotties. I find that these small hanging pieces can be used year round and are perfect for the small wall that needs decoration but cannot handle even a moderately sized piece.

Small Rabbit Sampler

A pale old fashioned greenish blue is the background for this pretty active rabbit rug. It looks as if it's thinking about something, bringing up memories of Mr. McGregor's garden. The panel has antique hanging hardware. If you fall in love with just the rug, let me know. I can remove it from the panel for you. The panel is 12"h by 19"w and the rug itself is 10"h by 15.5"w. It's in a private collection in Pennsylvania.

I make a few rugs of the right size and then see which panel it looks best on. Sweetheart


This is an example of an ornament that would be pulled out at Valentine's Day. This particular one was a gift given to a customer's wife. It has a hanger made of a strip of wool from the rug.
